1988. Chicago. All Star Weekend.

It was one of the most famous on court debuts for a sneaker. After winning the dunk context the night before, Michael Jordan laced up the Jordan 3 Black Cement and won the All-Star MVP award. The Black Cement debut symbolized where the sneaker was headed. Just like in '88, culture was shifting. Hip Hop was going mainstream, Spike Lee was breaking barriers, and fashion was becoming bolder. And the AJ3 was headed off the court.
